Types of Training
Webinar Training:Â Fire Smarts webinars include both live webinars at a specific scheduled date and time as well as recorded webinars that are available for viewing at any time. Webinars are typically focused on a concise topic and last from one to two hours. When you purchase a live webinar you are automatically given access to the webinar recording. On-Demand (Recorded) Training: Fire Smarts On-Demand Training courses are high quality, self-paced learning programs that deliver training courses in easily manageable modules that included engaging and interactive activities and videos. Live Online Training:Â Fire Smarts Live Online Training is an instructor led course that you attend through our online conferencing tool. Utilizing advanced online training tools and software, we create a virtual classroom for you to learn from our faculty without travel delays and expense. Through interactive screen sharing and pen tablet technology you can receive quality instruction right from your own computer. These training courses occur at specific dates and times that you must be available for. You will need a working webcam and a microphone connected to your computer. Continuing Education
ICC – International Code Council: Fire Smarts is an approved training provider of the International Code Council (ICC). ICC Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are assigned based on 0.1 CEU per training contact hour. For approved courses, certificates will comply with International Code Council (ICC) CEU requirements for ICC approved training courses.
NICET – National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies: Fire Smarts certificates for approved courses can be used as supporting documentation for CPD points required for NICET certification. This applies to the “Additional Education” section of NICET Policy #30 on Continuing Professional Development that allows for CPD points for education to advance, broaden and enhance technical knowledge and job skills.
CAL FIRE California Sprinkler Fitter: Fire Smarts certificates for approved courses will comply with CAL FIRE CEU requirements for CAL FIRE approved training courses per Title 19. CAL FIRE approved training courses may be used towards California certified sprinkler fitter continuing education requirements that include completing 30 hours every three years to maintain the state certification (Section 946).
