Fire Sprinkler Freeze Protection (for designers) Training Webinar
Water-freezing in a water-based fire protection system is a very costly threat that a majority of fire protection systems around the world have to adapt to. In this webinar, you will learn the most effective ways to protect against this issue from the 1st Vice-Chair of the NFPA, Russ Leavitt.
A new recorded webinar has been prepared by Fire Smarts, LLC to educate facility managers, building and fire officials and fire sprinkler system designers worldwide on the somewhat complex issue of fire sprinkler freeze protection. This training course is presented by the 1st Vice-Chair of the NFPA, Russ Leavitt. This webinar begins with reviewing the requirements for water-based fire protection systems to be protected against freezing. It covers the conditions that trigger mandatory freeze protection along with the approved options for meeting the requirement. The design limitations and economic impact (including maintenance) of using dry pipe systems, preaction systems, insulation, heat tracing, antifreeze solutions, and other potential protection methods will be examined. Participants will also learn to identify and apply the items that need to be considered when making a choice on how best to provide adequate freeze protection. This recorded webinar is part of the online training resources offered by Fire Smarts.
