Webinar presentation will educate facility managers, building and fire officials and service providers on NFPA 72 Chapter 24 which covers the design, installation and maintenance of Emergency Communication Systems.
A new webinar has been prepared by Fire Smarts, LLC to educate facility managers, building and fire officials and service providers worldwide on NFPA 72 Chapter 24 which covers the design, installation and maintenance of Emergency Communication Systems. Participants will become familiar with the scope of this chapter and the commonly used mass notification systems covered including one-way and two-way voice-based systems as well as elevator phones. This presentation will also review the design and installation requirements for these systems and discuss changes in the latest edition of NFPA 72 directly impacting the use of emergency communication systems. The webinar is part of the online training resources offered by Fire Smarts.
The “Introduction to Emergency Communication Systems NFPA 72” webinar will be presented by fire protection industry expert, Tom Parrish, SET, CFPS, PSP on Thursday, Sept 13th at 2:00pm Eastern. During this 90-minute training, Mr. Parrish will explain the scope of NFPA 72 Chapter 24 and the emergency notification systems covered, discuss the importance of the Risk Evaluation when determining appropriate emergency notification systems, and understand the In-Building Radio Enhancement Systems and what requirements to those systems.

Webinar instructor, Tom Parrish, SET, CFPS, PSP has more than 25 years’ experience in fire protection and emergency response. He has held positions with municipal fire, law enforcement and emergency medical services and in private industry system design and installation programs. He serves on several NFPA technical committees including NFPA 72 Signaling Systems for the Protection of Life and Property and Emergency Communications Systems. He is a board member of AFAA and is a senior instructor for NFPA. His professional credentials include Level IV NICET Certified Fire Alarm Technician, Level III NICET Inspections and Testing, Certified Fire Protection Specialist and Master Electrician. He is board certified as a Physical Security Professional by ASIS and holds a bachelor’s in Industrial Technology from the Kean University.
