Course Description: Changes in fire sprinkler protection design criteria, installation methods, and component technology are taking place faster than ever. This training course provides a discussion on the current approved revisions for the 2025 edition of NPFA 13 ‘Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems’. Actions taken during the committee meetings include revisions to hazard classifications, system area limitations, automated testing requirements, automatic storage and retrieval system (ASRS) design criteria, the Owner’s Certificate, along with other significant changes. The presenter will also address some proposed revisions that were not accepted by the technical committees and provide insight to how these decisions were made.

•Learn how to locate and apply the fire alarm initiating device spacing requirements in NFPA 72
•Understand and apply the spacing requirements for spot type heat detectors and spot type smoke detectors
•Determine when linear smoke and heat detection is most effective
