NFPA 70 ‘National Electrical Code’ requirements impact fire alarm system design. Calculation requirements impact items such as conduit size and junction box sizing that need to be determined during the design process to avoid costly changes later in the project. This course presents the NEC calculation requirements related to fire alarm systems as well as discusses rules for insulation types and how to handle wet locations. The presenter will also cover conduit support requirements and acceptable allowances for cable substitution.
Learning Objectives:
•Learn NEC calculations related to fire alarm systems
•Understand how to determine acceptable conduit and junction box sizing
•Describe conduit support requirements
