A smoke control system is intended to control the movement of air in a building and is part of the life safety systems present in the event of a fire. These systems can consist of multiple different components and use a variety of methods to achieve its design objective, which is typically to maintain a tenable environment long enough for all occupants to egress the building. This course will cover the purpose and components of these systems as well as provide an understanding of the design, construction, commissioning and maintenance considerations when using these systems.
Learning Objectives:
•Describe a smoke control system
•Learn when and where smoke control systems are required
•Understand the design considerations for smoke control systems
•Describe proper maintenance of smoke control systems
