While most fire sprinkler systems are designed using the prescribed requirements found in NFPA 13, decisions on what criteria, water supply, and means and methods of installation vary by project. Owners and other project team members do not always understand the various professionals that are involved. The insurance engineer, owner’s risk manager, fire protection engineer and fire sprinkler design technician each have critical and different roles to complete. This course discusses these roles and provides a basis for each discipline to participate. Making sure all are involved. and those that should be responsible for decisions are providing direction, is critical to the development of a complete fire sprinkler design.
