This course will discuss sections of the International Building Code (IBC) on how multiple different occupancies are categorized, including the use of separation to facilitate fire alarm system design. The presenter will review common mixed use occupancies such as churches with day care facilities and other similar situations. The requirements for using separation will be covered along with what constitutes a proper separation. Finally, participants will learn about mixed use facilities and the requirements for provided proper fire alarm system design in these scenarios.
