This course will cover the different voltage drop calculations that may be required for modern fire alarm systems under NFPA 72 ‘National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code’ when considering auxiliary power and notification devices. This includes calculations for end-loaded voltage drop, mid-point voltage drop and segmented voltage drop as well as special considerations when installing speakers. This presentation will include example exercises on how to properly perform these calculations.
Learning Objectives:
•Learn how to perform end-loaded voltage drop calculations
•Learn how to perform mid-point voltage drop calculations
•Learn how to perform segmented voltage drop calculations
•Understand impedance measurements and calculations for speaker circuits
